Webflow
Design & launch websites visually (no code!). Powerhouse of drag-and-drop + code flexibility. Build blogs, stores, & more. Scalable hosting included. Some learning curve & paid plans.

What is Webflow?
Webflow is an all-in-one platform that lets you design, build, and launch websites visually, without needing to code. Think of it as a powerful tool that combines the intuitive drag-and-drop interface of website builders like Wix or Squarespace with the flexibility and customization of traditional coding.
Here are some of the key things Webflow can do:
Visual Design: Webflow boasts a user-friendly interface that lets you design your website using drag-and-drop elements and visual styles. No coding required! You can add and customize elements like text, images, buttons, and forms, and adjust their properties like size, color, and animation.
Clean Code Generation: While you design visually, Webflow automatically generates clean, production-ready HTML, CSS, and JavaScript code behind the scenes. This means you have the freedom to customize your website further through code if needed.
Content Management System (CMS): Webflow also includes a built-in CMS that lets you easily manage your website content, such as blog posts, pages, and products. You can create and edit content directly in the visual editor, and even schedule for future publication.
E-commerce: Webflow offers powerful e-commerce features that allow you to build online stores, manage products, and process payments. You can create custom product pages, set up shopping carts, and even integrate with popular payment gateways.
Hosting and Scalability: Webflow websites are hosted on their secure and scalable cloud platform. This means you don't need to worry about setting up your own hosting or dealing with server maintenance. Your website will automatically scale to accommodate increased traffic.
Overall, Webflow is a powerful platform that can be used to create a wide variety of websites, from simple blogs and portfolios to complex e-commerce stores and enterprise websites. It's a great option for designers, developers, and anyone who wants to create a beautiful and functional website without needing to code.
Here are some additional things to keep in mind about Webflow:
- It has a paid subscription model, with different plans to suit different needs.
- It has a bit of a learning curve, but there are plenty of resources available to help you get started.
- It's not the best option for very basic websites that don't require much customization.
How I use Webflow
Webflow powers my website (ryanalmusawi.com) and a few of my other business websites. I use Webflow in conjunction with Relume Library, which is a robust library of templates you can copy and paste into any Webflow project to make designing your site fast and easy!
Alternatives to Webflow
Webflow boasts some of the most impressive design capabilities within the no-code space. Its visual editor empowers users to create stunning websites without touching a line of code. However, it's not without its drawbacks, including a steeper learning curve and higher pricing compared to some alternatives.
If you’re looking for something that is more affordable and easier to use, I’d strongly recommend looking into alternatives like Carrd, Squarespace, Wix, and Weebly. (My picks: if you prioritize design, I’d go with Squarespace. If you’re prioritizing affordability, I’d choose Carrd.)
If your main focus is setting up an online e-commerce store, I’d go with Shopify — no second thoughts about it.
